The Kite Runner

July 10th - After a really long long time i sat myself to read a novel in a single stretch. Surprisingly even after almost 7 years from the last time i did it, i did it again.

Every time i read a book, i can't stop comparing the opening line of it with the one from The Fountainhead. Among all the books i have read i think it's 'The Fountainhead' that's got the greatest opening line to intrigue the reader. Might just be figment of my imagination but i think it tells everything about the character.

Coming to the Kite Runner, i started on it soon after i came back from my office on Friday, the 10th. It was only at 3 A.M that i kept it aside after i flipped over the last page. The story of a friendship.. The story of betrayal.. The story of repentance.. From where it starts, the plot moves to more unrealistic set of sequences towards the end.. Worth a read..

Few days before i read the book, the movie was screened on Star Movies (or HBO ?) but i had hold back from watching it. Would certainly like to watch it the next time..

Manju, It was totally so in the end, especially when he gets to meet his childhood foe after years and the sequences that follow..
